Joyce Ndirangu
Director of Strategy and Partnerships, IRM Africa
Joyce Ndirangu serves as the Director of Strategy and Partnerships for IRM Africa, where she leads the Institute’s efforts to strengthen networks, foster strategic collaborations, and drive sustainable growth across the continent.
With a continental mandate, Joyce plays a pivotal role in shaping IRM’s engagement strategy and advancing its mission through high-impact partnerships in both the public and private sectors. She brings over 13 years of experience in business development, strategic planning, governance, and stakeholder engagement.
Prior to joining IRM, Joyce served as Regional Executive Officer at CFA Society East Africa, where she successfully led regional strategy implementation, governance structures, and financial performance, while promoting CFA Institute programs and standards across East Africa.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science and a Master’s degree in Finance and Investments. Based in Nairobi, Joyce works closely with members, partners, and institutional stakeholders to expand IRM’s footprint and deliver lasting value to the African risk management community.

Sheila Mueni
Office Manager, IRM Africa
Sheila Mueni serves as the Office Manager at IRM Africa, where she plays a central role in managing operations, supporting executive functions, and coordinating activities across the continent. She provides dedicated support to IRM members, students, and Regional Interest Groups based in Africa, helping to strengthen engagement and grow the Institute’s impact in the region.
With a background in training coordination and marketing within the risk consultancy space, Sheila brings a client-focused, solutions-driven approach to her work. She is a Certified Member of the Institute of Risk Management (IRMCert), having completed the International Certificate in Enterprise Risk Management.
Sheila also serves as a committee member of IRM’s Operational Risk Special Interest Group, contributing to thought leadership and knowledge-sharing among risk professionals globally. She holds a Bachelor of Peace and Conflict Studies, a Certification in Monitoring and Evaluation, and a Master’s in Development Studies. Sheila plays an essential linking role between IRM Africa’s internal operations and its external stakeholders, ensuring the organisation delivers consistently on its strategic and regional objectives.

- The East Africa Regional Group, led by Catherine Nyaga-Mbithi and Sospeter Thiga, serves as a linchpin for risk professionals across Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, and Burundi.
- Other Secretariat members are Eunice Murage, Dr William Mwiti, Caroline Gathii, Ian Mugisha and Audrey Onsomu. Former Secretariat member Carol Ouko-Misiko sits on the World Economic Forum’s Global Risk Report Committee.
